Jim followed his father Carson who helped shape San Francisco’s ad community from the 50s to 70s, by joining Ogilvy & Mather in 1979 and working with Hal Riney on clients as diverse as California First Bank, Henry Weinhard’s Beer, the Oakland A’s and Swanson Foods. He opened Riney’s Chicago office and managed the Anheuser-Busch account, spent two years at Y&R Chicago building a global marketing program for Bond Brewing, and then returned to Riney in SF to run the Stroh Brewery account as well as See’s Candies, CA Prune Board, Mirage Resorts, and the Aspen Skiing Company.
In late 2005, Jim joined Sapient Corporation to help launch their Sapient Interactive practice. Jim has managed a range of projects from major global web designs like Logitech to fully integrated marketing and advertising programs. He was involved in the launch of the HondaJet, Union Bank, Crystal Cruises, California Tourism, Dolby, Yahoo, Linksys and Virgin Charter in addition to managing Sapient’s west coast partners.
After spending time consulting in London on agency acquisitions, Jim founded CIBO with his 2 partners and has helped build the client roster to include Seagate, Disney, LegalZoom, Dolby, Volcom, Union Bank and Cisco.
